At Manor Community Academy we offer students a rich and broad curriculum from Year 7 to Year 11. This will provide them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to face the challenges of the 21st century.
The curriculum is designed to give all pupils the opportunity to develop as enquiring individuals who feel valued and respected, so that they, in turn, learn to value those around them.
It is our aim that, through their learning experiences, all students will become good citizens capable of making a valuable contribution to the economy, the environment and society.
In Years 7 - 8
Students have access to a broad and balanced range of subjects across nine learning areas. These subjects establish a solid foundation for success in Y9 - Y11:
|English and Literacy||Mathematics and Numeracy|
|Creative and Performing Arts||Humanities|
|Modern Foreign Languages||Physical Education|
|Computing and Computer Science||Prince's Trust Award|
The curriculum also provides for key elements such as Personal, Social and Health Education, Citizenship, Employability and Sustainable Development.
Across the curriculum, students are also provided with opportunities to develop their creative and critical thinking skills: to take responsibility for their own learning, to use their initiative, to share ideas, to communicate effectively and to work well with others.
In Years 9 - 11
Students have a curriculum experience which is closely tailored to meet their strengths, interests, individual needs and future aspirations.
Students have the opportunity to follow academic and vocational pathways leading to public examinations in a wide range of subjects. More information can be found by clicking on each of the individual subjects.
